Hope. Mixed media on canvas: acrylic & rice paper, 30" x 24." Inspired both by a concert I recently attended, Alan Hovhaness's Mystery Mountain, and the theme, "Feather and Flight," I sketched abstractly in preparation for this painting. However after arranging rice paper and acrylic paint onto the canvas, the painting evolved. Undergoing poetry & political text considerations and Firebird/mythological bird connections, the push-pull process finalized itself into this imaginary bird.
